My goodness do kids these days seem to be connected at a seam to their phone! From Facebook to Texting kids are ALWAYS using some sort of technology...when we were in school we all used No.2 pencils and lined paper to "text" by passing notes...
In any case, we can now merge technology and quilting for our kids! Below are several examples of Laptop and Cell Phone covers that girls will love. (You may even want a case or cover for yourself!)
First up are laptop covers. Do you kids or grandkids bring laptops to school? We have heard that some schools - mainly high schools with technology programs - actually issue laptops to the students for the entire school year! These laptop covers by Amy Butler and Indigo Junction will certainly help your kids/grandkids start the school year off with style...invite them to our website and involve them in picking out the fabric. Again, we want the "youngsters" to love sewing and quilting as much as we all do!
We thought these fabrics by Robert Kaufman would look really neat for either laptop case - the line of fabric is "Gallery Basics" and comes in several different designs and colors.
...and we try not to ignore the boys - here is some football fabric they may interest them! If they are not into the laptop or cell phone covers you can always get them involved by making a quilt for them to take to those football games when the weather is chilly. Maybe a football quilt is "cool" enough for them to use with all their buddies!
These cell phone covers are just about the cutest things since puppies...any young lady will love to pick out the fabric and design for these cell covers. From cupcakes to flip flops to kitties to doggies there is a cell phone cover for everyone! They can attach to a purse or a book bag - they could even make several covers so that they always have one to match their outfit! This pattern is only $8.50 and can easily be made from your stash of fabrics. However, since girls usually want the latest and greatest we have some fabrics below that will be perfect for these covers!
(So cute!)
This is our Girl Scout line of fabric by Kaufman Fabrics! If your daughter or granddaughter is involved in the girl scouts they could earn a badge by making matching cell phone or laptop covers using Girl Scout fabric - they would be the hit of all the girl scout troops! This line of fabric is very colorful and modern - much better than our days of greens and browns for uniforms!
If you want some basic colors here are a few good ideas from Benartex from the Woodstock and Scribble lines:

Girl Scouts was founded in 1912. I love the fabric and patterns for the cell phone and laptop covers. You have such a wide selection of fabric in your online store. If lived closer, I would shop at your store in person.
I will guess 1922?
My guess is: A. 1912
1912 in Savannah,GA. I was a girl scout from brownies on up but don't remember sewing anything, even by hand. Hmmm....

Fondly remember my GS days.

Girls Scout was founded in 1912. Wow...its been years, from when I was a Girl Scout. My mom was my leader and I remember sewing my very own pillow with her.
